The Poetry Machine is making its way around �鶹��ýӳ�� and Hamilton, N.Y., thanks to Colgate’s Upstate Institute and the University Libraries in partnership with the Adirondack Center for Writing.

In King: A Life, author Jonathan Eig focuses on Martin Luther King Jr.’s legacy of faith-based radicalism. During his Feb. 11 lecture at Colgate, Beyond The Dream: Embracing a More Complicated Martin Luther King, Eig said he believes King would be horrified at how his activism and writings have been overshadowed by a modern, more palatable version of the civil rights leader.

Senior Bryan (Tai) Pham has been awarded his second consecutive Best Delegate in a Special Role award by fellow students at EuroSim 2025 for his role as chair of the EU Environmental Council. This year’s program focused on the European Green Deal and negotiating legislation aimed at reducing microplastic pollution.

New York Times correspondent David Sanger, a three-time Pulitzer Prize winner, visited Colgate on March 26 for a lecture and discussion about his new book.

This week’s “Dark Skies in Appalachian Identity, Culture, and Sense of Place” symposium will bring writers, artists, musicians, filmmakers, scholars, and scientists to Colgate, April 4–6, to explore the human connection to the dark night sky.
