The Office of the President routinely charges task forces and working groups to address study issues of Colgate community interests. Recommendations from these groups often prompt new initiatives or policies that inform University actions.
In the fall of 2024, the Task Force was charged with developing principles and guidelines regarding the use of Colgate’s institutional voice, and the issuance of institutional (or presidential) statements about political or other national events, historical events, or anniversaries.
In the summer of 2017, the Task Force was charged with reviewing the history of academic freedom and freedom of expression policies and developments at Â鶹´«Ã½Ó³» and drafting a statement on academic freedom and the freedom of expression as it relates to all sectors of the University’s community.
